Agriculture Programs

Programs educate farmers and homeowners and other agricultural and horticultural producers on the latest management practices needed to solve problems and improve production and marketing.

Programs also help Tennesseans protect the environment and improve the management, marketing and use of natural resources. Listed below are programs offered through the Campbell County Extension. For more detailed information about these programs contact Campbell County Extension.

Home & Garden

We offer many services for homeowners and gardeners including variety recommendations, plant pest and disease diagnosis, and treatment strategies.

Beef Quality Assurance

We teach BQA Certification classes where beef producers learn about proper cattle handling techniques, injection site selection and proper injection techniques. Certification qualifies producers for Tennessee Ag Enhancement Cost Share Funds.

Master Beef Producer

 We offer Master Beef Producer certification which involves a series of classes where producers learn about beef cattle marketing, handling facilities, management of the cow-calf operation, feeding the beef herd, forage production, and other cattle related topics. ​​​​​​​​​ Certification qualifies producers for increased cost share funding through the Tennessee Ag Enhancement Program.

Master Small Ruminant Producer

Much like the Master Beef Producer program but geared for sheep and goat producers. Certification qualifies producers for increased cost share funding through the Tennessee Ag Enhancement Program.

Pesticide Certification

This training allows producers to become certified private applicators and purchase restricted use chemicals for their use on the farm.

Soil Testing

We provide soil testing and nutrient analysis to gather information for recommendations regarding lime and fertilizer for a given crop.
